夏休みの釣り三昧？ハゼはどうした！ | A Summer Vacation Fishing Spree? And How About Those Gobies!

世間では盆休みでレジャー間満載の一週間でしたが、みなさんいかがでしたでしょうか？

私は前半は仕事の残りで苦戦してましたが、中盤以降ぼちぼち釣りにいっていました
もちろんハゼメインですが、まずはこれ

フライでハゼ

そうフライフィッシングでハゼです、何回か挑戦していたんですが、とうとう釣りました！
サイズが小さいので合わせがきつくイージーな釣りではないですが、サイズが良くなるともっと釣りやすい感じですねただ目視での合わせなのでフライにインジケータをつけたり、目立つフライでないと厳しいですねしかも沈めないといけないのでハゼフライはクリアウォーターでないと難しいと思います。

で日を変えて同じ場所でハゼクラをやってみたところ

この場所では珍しいヒネハゼ１６cmくらい

リールはもちろんカーディナル

アベレージはこのくらい、ワラワラとよってきます

まぁハゼクラは安定のかんじですね、この間アジングにも行ったのですが写真撮り忘れたので割愛です

で最後はギル＆アメナマ釣りにいってきました

ギルはフライで

水の状態が悪くギルは１匹で終了ですが、もう一つのターゲット、アメナマを餌（塩サバ、シメサバ）で狙ってみました

アタリはバンバンありますが、なかなか乗らずやっとつれまた２匹めフエルコでブチ抜き怪魚ロッドの面目躍如です、しかしアメナマ楽しいですねフルロックしてもドラグで糸が出ていきます強い引きで興奮しますね。これはやはりアンタレスMDが必要か（笑）

しかしアメナマさんバサーとかに不人気ですが、これ面白いよナマズなのにお目々もクリクリで可愛いし。

いろいろな釣りを楽しんだほうが絶対いいですニゴイとギル釣りを馬鹿にする人とは友達になれませんが、今日からアメナマも追加ですねそれでは

It was the Obon holiday week, a time full of leisure activities for most people. How was everyone's break?

I struggled with leftover work for the first half, but from the middle of the week on, I managed to get out for some fishing.
Of course, my main target was goby, but first, check this out:

Goby on a fly

That's right, a goby caught with fly fishing. I've tried this a few times, but I finally landed one!
Because they're so small, setting the hook is tricky, so it's not an easy style of fishing. I imagine it gets easier with larger fish. Since you're setting the hook by sight, it's tough without an indicator on your line or a very visible fly. On top of that, you have to let it sink, so I think fly fishing for goby is difficult in anything but clear water.

Then, on a different day, I tried 'haze-kura' (goby crankbait fishing) at the same spot.

A 'hine-haze' (an older, larger goby), about 16cm, which is a rare catch for this spot.

The reel, of course, is a Cardinal.

This is about the average size. They swarm the lure.

Well, goby cranking is as reliable as ever. I also went 'ajing' (horse mackerel fishing) the other day, but I forgot to take photos, so I'll skip that.

And finally, I went fishing for bluegill & American catfish.

The water conditions were poor, so I ended up with only one bluegill. But I then tried for my other target, the American catfish, using bait (salted mackerel and vinegared mackerel).

Moved to a different spot.

Another one, also around 50cm I'd say.

Hoisted it straight out with the Huerco.

I was getting tons of bites, but they just wouldn't hook up. I finally managed to land this second one, hoisting it straight out with my Huerco—the monster fish rod really lived up to its name! But man, American catfish are fun. Even with the drag fully locked, they still pull line. The powerful fight is so exciting. I guess this means I need an Antares MD, huh? (lol)

You know, American catfish are unpopular with bass anglers and the like, but they're really fun. For a catfish, they have these big, round, cute eyes, too.

It's definitely better to enjoy all kinds of fishing. I can't be friends with people who look down on fishing for Japanese dace (nigoi) and bluegill, and as of today, I'm adding American catfish to that list. Well then, until next time!

2018年8月5日 カーディナル３購入＆ハゼ入魂 | August 5, 2018: Bought a Cardinal 3 & Its First Goby Catch

どうも、今日もハゼにいってまいりました
ところで、こんなもんを買ってしまいまして

そう！往年の名作リールABUのカーディナル３です、もちろん昔のやつでなくディスプラウト（ツネミ）の最新復刻版です。さすがに最近の復刻版は昔のままでなく改良が入ってましてライン巻きも平行巻ですし（昔はプリン巻きで下側に糸が偏ってました）ラインローラーも改良されています。でもやはりカーディナル！インスプールの手返しの良さは健在で買ってよかったです。

で早速ハゼクラで入魂！！！（笑）

と意気込みましたが暑さなのかクランクによってきますがフックにかかりません

もうしょうがないのでスプーンでハゼをとってきます

なんとか釣れました

メジャー忘れてしまいましが１５cmオーバーのヒネハゼ

やはりJetSetter 60ST SHINOBI SPECIALのようなテレスコピックにはカーディナルがバッチリです、最新のリールよりも味わい深いですね。まぁ趣味の問題ですが、

最後までクランクの反応が悪くスプーンでしかつれませんでした。まぁこんな時もあります高活性ならスプーンよりもクランクなんですが、今回はスプーンに軍配ですね。

しかしカーディナルいいですクラシックリールですが、十分現代にも通用しますね。

まぁお値段が高いですが、一度は使って見たかったので想像以上に良かったです。

まぁなんとか入魂できたし満足でした

Hey everyone, I went goby fishing again today.
By the way, I ended up buying this...

That's right! It's the legendary ABU Cardinal 3 reel. Of course, it's not the vintage one, but the latest reproduction model by DAYSPROUT (Tsunemi). As expected from a modern reproduction, it's not just a copy of the old one; it has some improvements. The line lay is now parallel (the old ones had a cone-shaped wind where the line would bunch up at the bottom), and the line roller has been improved as well. But still, it's a Cardinal! The great feel and quick handling of the in-spool design is still there, and I'm so glad I bought it.

So, I immediately set out to christen it with some goby crankbaiting (haze-kura)!!! (lol)

I was all fired up, but maybe because of the heat, the gobies would chase the crankbait but wouldn't get hooked.

Since I had no other choice, I switched to a spoon to catch a goby.

I finally managed to catch one.

I forgot my measuring tape, but it was an "hine-haze" (an older, larger goby) over 15cm.

The Cardinal is a perfect match for a telescopic rod like the JetSetter 60ST SHINOBI SPECIAL. It has more character than modern reels. It's a matter of personal taste, of course.

Another one in quick succession, a Chichibu goby.

A third catch in a row, another "hine-san" over 15cm.

The crankbaits didn't get much of a response all day, and I could only catch fish on the spoon. Well, that's how it goes sometimes. Usually, when the fish are very active, crankbaits outperform spoons, but today the spoon was the clear winner.

But still, the Cardinal is fantastic. Even though it's a classic reel, it definitely holds up even today.

It is quite pricey, but I've always wanted to use one, and it exceeded my expectations.

In any case, I managed to christen it with a fish, so I'm happy.

2018 年7月29日 台風後のハゼ調査 | July 29, 2018: Post-Typhoon Goby Survey

どうも、昨日は台風のため釣りにはいきませんでした。今日は台風のあとの様子を見にいつもの場所にいってまいりました

いつもの運河は水はかなりクリアになっており、水が台風で入れ替わった感じです。
PM4時からの釣行ですが、やはり暑い時間帯はキビしいですね。チェイスありますが、小さいのばかりです。
夕マズメになってからあたりが出だしましたが、今回はクランクそこそこでひさしぶりのスプーン主体でやってみました。

てな感じです、ハゼが浮いている様子もなくどうやら無事にやり過ごしてくれた模様です

ゴミが台風に流されて水の状況はいい感じだとおもいます。

この状況がつづくなら来週以降がたのしみです。

Hey everyone, I didn't go fishing yesterday because of the typhoon. Today I went to my usual spot to see how things are after the storm.

The water in the usual canal is quite clear; it feels like the water was completely turned over by the typhoon.
I started fishing from 4 PM, and as expected, it was tough during the hot hours. I got some chases, but only from small ones.
Once evening set in, the bites started, but this time I held back on the crankbaits and focused on using spoons for the first time in a while.

The second catch on the spoon was a 15cm mature one.

So that's how it went. I didn't see any signs of gobies floating, so it seems they made it through the storm safely.

The debris was washed away by the typhoon, so I think the water condition is looking good.

If this situation continues, I'm looking forward to the coming weeks.

2018年７月14,15日ボートハゼクラ＆ギルフライ | July 14-15, 2018: Boat Goby Cranking & Bluegill Fly Fishing

巷では三連休ですが、凄い暑さで死にそうな感じです、もう釣りに行くと熱中症で倒れそうです。
土曜日はもう暑さでダルダルになってました。さすがに週末釣りにいかないとストレスがたまるので、日曜日の午後から江戸川放水路の伊藤遊船さんでボートハゼクラです。
ちなみに新ロッドJetSetter 60ST SHINOBI SPECIALを購入しましたのでその鱗付けも兼ねての釣行です

今はルアーロッドでは珍しいテレスコピック（振り出し）の竿です

このロッドいい感じでバーサタイルなんでも使えそうです仕舞寸法も３８cmと持ち運び

に便利ですね

１３−４cmくらいのヒネ

　ボートハゼは短時間でしたが、ヒネハゼも釣れていい感じでした、馬の背のカキ殻に根掛かりしてもボートを反対側に寄せればたいていの根掛かりがはずせるので、根掛かりを恐れず大胆に攻めることができ、カキ殻からヒネを釣ることができました。

　ここらへんがボートハゼクラのアドバンテージですね、多分こんな釣りができるのは日本でもこの放水路だけではないでしょうか。

で次の日はやっと以前からかってあったフライタックルでのブルーギル釣りに行ってきました

あのFROGPRODUCTS さんのYouTubeを見てどうしてもフライでブルーギルをやりたくなりルーギフライにいってきました

もうフライをほっとっくだけで下から突き上げ様にバイトして大興奮です

みての通り全部虫フライでの釣果ですしかしこのギル釣りは癖になりますね、なかなか小物釣りで楽しいゲームフィッシュはそうそうありません、最近はフライも以前よりとっつきやすくなっています、みなさんもいかがでしょうか？

次の目標はフライでハゼですね

It was a three-day weekend, but the heat was so intense it felt like I was going to die. I was worried I'd collapse from heatstroke if I went fishing.
On Saturday, I was completely drained by the heat. But since I get stressed if I don't go fishing on the weekend, I went out for some boat goby cranking on Sunday afternoon at Ito Yusen on the Edogawa Diversion Canal.
This trip was also a chance to break in the new JetSetter 60ST SHINOBI SPECIAL rod I just bought.

It's a telescopic rod, which is rare for lure rods these days.

This rod feels nice and versatile, like it could be used for anything. With a collapsed length of 38cm, it's also very convenient to carry.

A large, second-year goby, about 13-14 cm.

The boat goby fishing was for a short time, but it went well, and I even caught some large, second-year gobies. Even when my lure gets snagged on the oyster shells on the sandbars, I can usually free it by moving the boat to the other side. This allows me to fish aggressively without fear of getting snagged, and I was able to pull the large gobies out from the oyster beds.

This is the big advantage of boat goby cranking. This diversion canal is probably one of the only places in Japan where you can fish this way.

Then, the next day, I finally went bluegill fishing with the fly tackle I had bought some time ago.

After watching a YouTube video by FROGPRODUCTS, I got an irresistible urge to try fly fishing for bluegill, so I went out and did just that.

It was so exciting! I'd just let the fly sit on the water, and they would strike it, coming up from below.

As you can see, all these were caught on insect flies. This bluegill fishing is addictive. It's not often you find such a fun game fish when fishing for small species. Fly fishing has become much more accessible these days, so why not give it a try?

My next goal is to catch goby on the fly.
